About Denise
Denise Hull is a proud resident of Upper Gwynedd Township with her husband, Dave and two teenagers, James and Kate- as well as their rescue pup: Gracie. James is now technically a resident of Happy Valley as he finishes his freshman year at PSU. As the Hull Family begins their 18th year here, they are most grateful for the community which has made what was intended to be a short stop, into a permanent destination. Only two years into living here, Dave faced a battle with cancer, which he beat, thanks in no small part to the efforts of their new neighbors and friends. This outpouring of support, even though the family was new to the area, quickly made their new town feel like home and suggested to them, that perhaps it was time to lay down some permanent roots.
Denise grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and attended Ohio University where she received a BFA in acting and a BS in education. Moving to Chicago to student teach, she had the opportunity to work as an actor, teacher, tutor, non-profit director, and server throughout her 13 years there. Seeking a quieter and greener place to raise a family, she and her husband and son moved to UGT shortly before the birth of their daughter.
Denise has enjoyed volunteering her time as the Vice President & President of Gwynedd Square Elementary Home and School Organization. She also spent several years working with Girls on the Run to bring that organization to Gwynedd Square Elementary and help as a coach and 5K Organizer. Currently Denise is thrilled to have gotten involved with local government as she serves her eighth year as Township Commissioner. She feels privileged and grateful to be a member of the first, Upper Gwynedd, all female, all democratic board, ever! Denise is honored to serve as the municipal chair of the Upper Gwynedd & North Wales Democratic Party for the last 4 years. One thing that Denise has learned since she first ran in 2017, is that real change begins at the grassroots level, where the actions of the leadership have the most direct impact on its residents. Denise is proud of what she and Team UGT have accomplished and is committed to ensuring that the future is bright for all who live, work or play in our community.
